ABOUT KRISTIN
I wish I could say that I realized the profound effect of food on my health at a young age but as a child growing up, I had a major disconnect. I thought I was pretty healthy besides my outdoor allergies I figured were "just a part of life" that I had to learn to live with. In hindsight, my body was telling me it needed help, long before major symptoms showed up. Fast forward to college when things started to take a turn for the worst. I was eating poor quality food, large portions, experiencing stress and had a poor relationship with food. This was a recipe for disaster. I suffered from SIBO, bloating, energy fatigue, IBS, muscle fatigue and soreness. I felt miserable and so uncomfortable in my own body.
When I decided to take action about my symptoms, that path lead me down a very long and disappointing road of failed traditional medicine. After feeling like I exhausted all my options and defeated, I met with a naturopathic doctor and also learned about the Nutrition Therapy Association.
This is when my world changed. I realized and experienced the effects of how nature, food, and lifestyle can heal your body. After this experience, I completed the Nutrition Therapy Practitioner program in 2018 and have made it my mission to help people heal with food and find the root cause.
Our healing journeys are never perfect and can be a long and winding road. However, my hope is to help people realize their body's natural capabilities with nutrition and lifestyle changes. If we give ourselves the nourishment it naturally needs, great things will happen.
I have completed a Master's in Sport Management and continue my education in areas of the microbiome, liver health and small intestinal bacteria overgrowth.
